N:64 Week 3, Part 1

NFL64

Man I was bad early. I was ok later, but Minnesota really saved my week. We are looking for a big rebound this week and actually sort of like the slate and my picks. It all starts tonight, with the Pats third string QB going against known QB destroyer JJ Watt. Do I think the Pats can win? Sure, I mean they haven’t given me any reason to doubt they can win in any situation since before I had either of my degrees. So why not win in a short week at home against a team that has to travel and is suspect on the road to begin with? So do I think it’s likely? Not at all, but it sure as shit is possible.

For those of you new to the NFL:64 let me tell you what you will find inside. At the top you will find the week’s schedule broken down by game days and time frames and team power rankings. Then click on the game you want to read about and you will find the spread, the over/under and two facts about each team (typically one football not and one fantasy note) plus my pick to win with a score.

THURSDAY NIGHT

HOUSTON (2-0) @ NEW ENGLAND (2-0) [+1] OVER/UNDER [40.5]

  • Brock Osweiler is lucky to have some pretty great WRing weapons. I’m not so sure he is the real deal as of yet, and has a lot to prove to me, and I imagine Bill O’Brien.
  • I think you have to start DeAndre Hopkins and Lamar Miller, but I might take a breath before I play Will Fuller tonight.
  • Who needs Tom Brady, not only that, but who needs Jimmy G-Sus? It’s the guy everyone always planned on seeing under center Jacoby Brissett! I think the Pats slow the game down and try and wear down the Texans stout, but not particularly deep defensive front 7.
  • I think if you are an aggressive fantasy player, you have Julian Edelman in your lineup thinking he is going to catch and throw a TD tonight. I’m more into safer plays and think Edelman would sit on my bench if I had any shares of him.

Texans 20, Patriots 17 (UNDER 40.5)

  • Part 2 with the rest of the week will be up tomorrow! See you then!
