Who Let the Home Dogs out?

So in week 2 we learned some more things. I’ve very close to calling a few definitive, lets list those first.

  • The Jets, Saints and Colts are just fucking terrible and have little hope of anything positive happening in 2017.

Now some less definitive notes….

  • The Bengals are very, very bad and I had them on the edge of the playoffs.
  • I was wrong about the Bronco’s, maybe, but I was right that the AFC West is the best division in football and will likely have 3 playoff teams come from it.
  • The AFC South should be barred from the playoffs.
  • I’d love to see a Falcons, Lions NFC Championship.

Now a quick opinion paragraph….

The lack of practice is hurting the quality of the game. And I don’t just mean for the skill position players. I mean for everyone. Football is a violent collision sport and there is no way to replicate or “walk thru” that. You need to take hits, to learn how to take hits. Learning how to take a hit with in the game plan can be critical preparation. You also need our body to be ready to take the pounding that is an NFL game. The current rules are precluding both of these preparations and that’s how you get this shit level of play. I’m still thrilled football is back though.

Week 3 Hooking Foul Sleeveless Power Rankings!

RK TEAM CHANGE REASON
1 Raiders +3 Had the Jets beat 5 minutes into the second quarter.
2 Steelers 2-0 while the offense hasn’t been operating anywhere near 100%.
3 Falcons +4 Survived week 1, took care of business week 2, this is how you build momentum.
4 Patriots +2 Beat a bad defense which is meh, but their defense looked like they had a fucking clue, which they didn’t look like in week 1.
5 Panthers +3 See the Steelers.
6 Packers +6 It almost feels like they punted that game due to injury.
7 Chiefs +4 Got the win against a frisky team, but after 10 day off should have mopped the floor with Philly.
8 Lions +9 My biggest jumper, what would Matthew Stafford’s career look like if he hadn’t languished in Detroit for the last 8 years?
9 Broncos +9 Tied with Lions for the biggest jumper, I don’t really believe but dismantling the Cowboys is impressive.
10 Seahawks  –4 They are going to get Russell Wilson killed.
11 Cowboys  -7 That was pathetic in Denver.
12 Bucs +2 Good teams take care of business at home.
13 Eagles +2 A valiant effort in a hard place to play a very good team.
14 Vikings -4 They drop even further if Bradford isn’t healthy.
15 Titans They let the Jags hang around way too long in that game.
16 Ravens +3 The defense belongs here, but the offense doesn’t.
17 Chargers -5 A kicker away from potentially 2-0.
18 Jaguars -2 What happens in London could set the trend for the rest of the season.
19 Dolphins +2 It’s hard to get road wins, that’s a good one.
20 Redskins +4 It’s hard to get road wins, that’s a good one.
21 Browns +1 Just inside the top 20. Playing tough on defense.
22 Bills +4 That’s a good cover against a good defense.
23 Texans +2 Meh.
24 Rams +3 Lost to a more talented team, but played pretty well in spurts.
25 49ers +6 That’s a great showing in Seattle for such a young team.
26 Cardinals +3 Yippee they beat a freshman team from Indy.
27 Bengals -7 This is getting ugly.
28 Bears +3 Took a nice step in playing the Falcons tough.
29 Giants –6 That was sloppy QB play.
30 Saints -1 This whole thing is going to end BADLY.
31 Colts That was pathetic.
32 Jets T-A-N-K. TANK! TANK! TANK!

Last week I was 9-7 Against the Spread and 10-6 on Over/Unders.

On the season 17-13-1 Against the Spread and 18-12-1 on Over/Unders.

*For this game I picked the Spread exactly and picked the Falcons.

**This game is off the board because of the Sam Bradford injury. Which I wish they had done last week, because I wouldn’t have bet on Minnesota….
