Ronan Inspired Reboot!

Maintaining consistency in creating content for Hooking Foul has been my biggest challenge. Often times I pick it up, run with it for a while, put it down, not meaning to leave it for months and yet, here we are again, months have gone by without a post. Even though I’ve started some fun, great stuff, I haven’t finished any of it.

I’m fairly certain that this is going to change over the next couple of weeks, months and years going forward, as will the scope of Hooking Foul in general.

One: because football is back.
Two: because of this guy.

Everyone please meet Ronan Driscoll Sullivan. Born August 12, 2017 at 8:43 am measuring in at 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20.25 inches long. Mom and baby are both doing exceptionally well, considering the huge physical toll pregnancy, labor and delivery are for both Mom and kid. I honestly don’t know how Kelly did it, but I am amazingly proud of her and lucky to have her as a partner on this adventure. Continue reading

Patriots Training Camp Preview, Part 1

Good Monday sports fans! It’s a big week all over the map as the MLB trade deadline is 1 week away and NFL training camps start. Where the Red Sox have already made a few deals, early in the week I am going to concentrate on previewing Patriots training camp. Today we are going to tackle the biggest of those. The QB situation….

Patriots Looking Ahead

I want to just blame Marcus Cannon and the rest of the offensive line for the Patriots loss in Denver last Sunday. I want to say it is as simple as, if Nate Solder is healthy they win that game in a route. Sadly that isn’t true. The breakdown was in the system and the design. Poor play from the offensive line sure didn’t help though.

NFL Summation: Week 13

Summationweek13

I’ve been a little under the weather these last couple of days and my productivity had lapsed, but no fear I will be back tomorrow with the standard NFL:64 fro the week.

To catch you up on last week. I was 8-8 for the week, making me, 113-79 for the year. Some quick thoughts….

  • The Patriots lost because you can’t play shitty special teams and expect to win.
  • What would have happened it Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary had hit the ceiling or a rafter or a speaker? I honestly don’t know.
  • Carolina is really good even if they gave up a bunch of points to the Saints.
  • The Vikings puked all over themselves.
  • The Bears puked all over themselves too.
  • No one wants to win the NFC East, there playoff privileges should be revoked.

I’m working on the NFL:64 now so hopefully that is up later and if I’m super productive a playoff pictures as well!

Week 13: NFL 64

NFL64

As we look into the week 13 of the NFL season I’m looking for some consistency. Not from a team or player, but from the league and it’s officials. While the NFL league administration gets a little too much flack for player behaviour, especially for players offending for the first time, because that is a relatively unpredictable, (Anyone who screws up a second time there is no excuse for and the NFL should be dealing with that with a far speedier process. See Aldon Smith.) the idea referees behaviour can’t be better controlled is ridiculous. Continue reading

NFL Summation: Week 12

Summationweek12It is long overdue for the NFL to make officials full time employees. I realize they at most work 24 games a year, but how is this not as great an integrity issue as potentially deflated footballs? Would it be crazy for me to suggest that because the Broncos went for the field goal instead of the TD and cut the lead to 4 when the spread was 3, that any official who may have bet the Bronco’s plus 3 had a vested interest in seeing the Bronco’s score again? NFL 64: Week 12

NFL64

Week 12 is here and Thanksgiving week is always weird week. Teams will start actually clinching playoff spots soon, both in the real NFL and in your fantasy leagues! The best game of the weekend will probably be the Seahawks hosting the Steelers. Neither team is great, but I think both are very good and are very evenly matched. Continue reading
